New policy
has emerged to help save the planet, and it’s borrowing its name from FDR.
With the 2020
election on the horizon, you can expect to hear a lot about the green new deal
and what it means for green jobs, but to prepare yourself, you can read through
this quick primer.
Climate
scientists recently issued a stern warning that unless we make revolutionary
changes to the way our economy relies on fossil fuels in the next 10 years,
then in 20 years, the planet will become very hostile to human life. The Green
New Deal aims to be the catalyst for this revolution. Thankfully, the
scientists who issued the warning say the technology exists to address the

basic message is this: we can either continue on as we are, being satisfied
with our current economy and the damage we cause, or, we can make a change and
have a hospitable planet. “Both” is not an option.

It will invest in infrastructure to improve air and water quality. The Green New Deal will even work to create sustainable living practices in urban and suburban
To make the program work, a massive investment in new green jobs will be required. Included in the Green New Deal is the proposal to create 10 million new green jobs. Simply put: a commitment to saving the planet by the people will create new green jobs. The question is whether or not the people are ready to dive in and make a change.
