There’s always more to the story.
At Clarion we say that POWERGEN International 2019 is Nov. 19-21 in New Orleans. That’s true for the PGI tracks, exhibits, Knowledge Hubs and networking opportunities.
On Monday, Nov. 18, though, the week truly begins with a whole day of POWERGEN University courses offered at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
This year’s set of three, four and eight-hour PGU classes include detail educations on crucial power generation topics such as effective project management, gas turbine long-term service agreements, safety processes, digitalization, business plans for emerging markets, microgrids, cogeneration, machine learning, boiler technologies, building the generation fleet of the future and the consideration of natural gas vs. diesel for on-site power gen-sets.
That’s a lot of unpack and you can’t do it all in one sitting. That’s why PGU offers choices: Each course is uniquely designed to focus on core issues at depth.
“POWERGEN University’s courses were selected by an outside committee made up of experts within the power generation industry in all its facets,” Rod Walton, content director of POWERGEN International, said. “These people are renowned in their fields, whether it’s digital, turbines, renewables, engineering and project management. They strived for offering what they recognized as the best and deepest dives into key industry topics.”
The PGU course instructors include leaders from companies such as Pathfinder LLC, Mercer Thompson, XLMPR Energy, Safety Erudite, Beckwith Electric, Accenture, Tata Consulting Services, Generac Power Systems, McIlvaine Co., Provecta Process Automation, AVP Group, algorithmica technologies and others.
Several of the POWERGEN University instructors are CEOs, co-founders, research leaders and top consultants. They have won and lost enough to know what works and how to explain the changing marketplace for power generation.
POWERGEN University comes with an additional cost to POWERGEN International registration. Many consider it an investment in helping adapt to the evolution of the sector.
