While the world is in the grips of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, we must not lose sight of the climate crisis. As the negative consequences of climate change become more visible and threaten our livelihoods each passing year, the world’s young people are feeling the urgency of this crisis.
From school strikes to demonstrations, and to innovation, young people’s mobilization all around the world shows the power they possess to help tackle the climate emergency.
Building on this momentum, the Secretary-General will launch his Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change on 27 July to amplify youth voices and to engage young people in an open and transparent dialogue as the UN gears up to raise ambition and accelerate action to address the climate crisis.
